I'm glad you've made the effort to check out the site. As this is a new community, the success of this message board depends on developing an active fragrance enthusiast community. I hope that very soon, we can have some bottle splits going. If you're not ready to host a split, please make suggestions on brands or perfumes you'd like to get a hold of through the group.
A board such as this depends on trust between its members. As this is a new project, I suggest members place a link in their profiles to their profile on another site where they have earned feedback, such as TradeMe.
I'd also like to point out that there is a private message feature for members. You may need to enable e-mail notification of private messages in your settings (I'm still learning this system as well).
Please feel free to invite any friends that may also be fragrance enthusiasts. Don't feel you are obliged to participate in a split, but you can participate in other ways. Swapping samples or decants seems a low risk method. We could even distribute empty decanting supplies for this purpose.
I hope you all gain some fragrant enjoyment from this site. Suggestions on what we can do to improve it are always welcome.
Best Wishes
Hamish
Why a bottle split (and decant board) just for NZ fragrance enthusiasts? Shipping anything to NZ is pretty expensive and so many fragrances and brands just aren't available here. I'm eager to try a lot of niche scents, but I don't want to take the risk of buying a full bottle, only to not be in love with it and lose out to the high trading fees at our favourite auction site. As well, many members on other split boards won't ship internationally. As for decants, it is just another way we can sell or swap without paying trading fees elsewhere.
